Copywriting = daily learning

One of the things I love about copywriting is that I’m always learning – and in fields that I would never have chosen by myself. There’s a constant cross-fertilisation of ideas and information. (Something that I find really key to staying creative.)

Full-spectrum business understanding

As I wrote a Nurture Email series for a bookkeeping client, I learned that accounting began in the early 1400’s – and how the craft enables business managers, entrepreneurs and their investors to keep track of every cent they receive or spend.

As I turned speaking notes into a series of blog posts for a web designer, I got a update on the latest  design features of websites that convert visitors into business.

At the start of the year, I wrote copy on high performance car suspensions one week, then the next week on how to invest in Italian property.

Ongoing amazing conversations

My basic value proposition is “You talk, I write – so you can get on with doing business”.

Thanks to Skype, I get to have fascinating conversations with inspiring entrepreneurs about HOW their products and services help their customers.  (Sometimes I feel more like a business coach than a copywriter as we work our way from their expertise towards their USP.)
